Zakynthos International Airport (IATA code: ZTH, ICAO code: LGZA) is an airport in Zakynthos, Greece, opened in 1972. The airport is 4.3 km from Zakynthos town and other seaside tourist destinations such as Laganas, Tsilivi and Kalamaki.
Because ZTH is close to Kalamaki beach, where the endangered loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta) lay their eggs, its aircraft movement is restricted. Flights are not permitted to take off or land between 10:00PM to 5:00AM. But it is at the jurisdiction of the Greek authorities to allow aircraft movements at night under extenuating circumstances.
In 2019, the airport handled a total of 1,810,427 passengers, 94,297 domestic and 1,716,130 international. The majority of international passengers were to and from Great Britain.
