On May 25, Shenzhen Yantian International Container Terminal announced that due to increasingly serious delays in shipping schedules and five coronavirus confirmed cases, export containers are prohibited to enter the port.
It is reported that on May 25, Shenzhen Yantian International Container Terminal announced that due to increasingly serious delays in shipping schedules, the container yard in the Shenzhen Yantian port area has been in full storage, which seriously affects the efficiency of the terminal operation and causes traffic congestion around the port area.
In order to deal with the above problems, Yantian International Container Terminal released an announcement:
1. During the period from 22:00 on May 25th to 23:59 on May 27th(Beijing Time), export containers will not be accepted by the port; however, during this period, import containers and empty containers can be picked up as normal.
2. From 00:00 on May 28th(Beijing Time), the acceptance of containers will resume, and only ETA-4 (that is, the export containers within four days before the expected arrival date of the ship) will be accepted. This measure will be implemented from May 28 to June 3(Beijing Time).
In addition, due to five consecutive confirmed cases at Shenzhe Yantian Port in the past few days, epidemic prevention and control measures have strengthened in relevant areas, which caused insufficient manpower on duty and slow loading and unloading of containers.
At present, serious congestion has occurred at the Shenzhen Yantian Port, and vehicles entering the port to hand over containers have lined up in the channel. The operation time of container return is severely delayed, and the ship's berthing, loading and unloading at the dock are affected to a certain extent.
