The Information Office of Ningbo Municipal Government held a press conference on COVID-19 prevention and control in Ningbo on August 24.  Li Chengjie, Member of the Standing Committee of Beilun District Committee and executive vice governor of Beilun District, briefed on the latest epidemic prevention and control progress in the containment area.  It is reported that beilun district is orderly lifting the relevant control measures, today has lifted the meishan street (including the port area) all risk areas control measures.  

On the evening of August 24, the Port Affairs Administration of Ningbo Meishan Bonded Port issued an anouncement on the orderly resumption of production in the Meishan Comprehensive Protected Zone and the strengthening of the regular management of epidemic prevention and control. According to the anouncement, the meishan Comprehensive Protected Zone was lifted on the morning of August 25.  

According to the notice, all units in the Meishan Comprehensive Protection Zone in Ningbo should fully prevent and control the epidemic and resume work and production, give priority to helping stranded trucks with loading and unloading, and arrange reasonable staff shifts to ensure the orderly resumption of normal production operations.  All units should strengthen internal management, carry out hygiene, ventilation and cleaning and disinfection.  It is required to organize external trucks to enter the area in an orderly manner to ensure the smooth operation of regional traffic and avoid congestion caused by short time delivery peak.  

Today, Meishan Port has been closed for more than 14 days.  It is reported that 41 ships are currently waiting for berths and cargo loading and unloading at Meishan port. Meishan Port is expected to take 10-14 days to clear the backlog of container ships and the whole port will resume normal operations by the middle of next month.  

In addition, Ningbo Meishan Port will be fully restored from September 1!  It is believed that the world's largest cargo throughput port - Ningbo Zhoushan port will soon return to busy.
