Aasiaat port (port code: GLEGE / GLJEG), also known as Egedesminde port, is one of the main ports in the west of Greenland. It is situated on the northwest coast of Greenland.
The port is the most important centre for distribution of supplies in north Greenland. It has facilities for handling break bulk, container and passenger. It mainly handles general cargo and containers.
The port is open from May to December when it normally remains ice free. The types of vessels regularly calling at this port are fishing vessels, accounting for about 64%; and cargo vessels, taking up around 18%.
