Alajuela Port (port code: CRAJU / CRMOB) is a dry port in the Alajuela canton of the Alajuela Province of Costa Rica. It is located in the Central Valley, 19 kilometres northwest of San José, at the southern base of the volcano of Poas. It is the centre of the Costa Rican sugar trade, and an important market for coffee. Its products are exported from Punt arenas, on the Pacific Ocean, 32 miles west.
The main exports leaving this port are coffee, sugar-cane, maize, beans, tobacco, citrus fruits, strawberries, tubers like cassava, flowers and ornamental plants.
