Amagasaki port (port code:JPAMA) is situated on the NE coast of Osaka Bay between the ports of Osaka and Kobe. The port, which merged into the new Hanshin port on 1 December 2007, is divided into three areas, No 1 Area formerly Amagasaki, No 2 Area formerly Nishinomiya and No 3 Area formerly Ashiya.
The principal imports of the port are gravel and steel products; steel products being the main exports. The port handles 7,775,000 tons of cargo each year.
