Ambon port (port code: IDAMQ) is situated on the northern shore of the Lattimore Peninsula, which forms the southern third of the island of Ambon. It is the main harbour of the province of Maluku.
The port handles general cargo vessels both from an anchorage position or at several alongside berths. It mainly exports cloves, nutmegs, mace, copra and forest products and imports cloth, ironware, canned provisions, timber, machinery and petroleum products.
Approximately 2,500 vessels, 626,000t of cargo and 51,500TEU are handled annually by the port.
