Antofagasta Port (port code: CLANF) is a transit port for Bolivian and Argentine cargo. It lies approximately 2 nautical miles south and 4 nautical miles north of Ciudad de Antofagasta, and 105 miles north of Puerto Taltal.
The port has a good artificial harbour which is exposed to heavy southly and westly ocean swell. There are seven berths varying in size and facilities for bulk, oil, liquefied gas and Ro-Ro cargo.
The port primarily handles container and general cargo. Each year it handles approximately 1.5 million tons of general cargo. The types of vessels regularly calling at this port are cargo vessels, accounting for about 52%; and dredging vessels, taking up around 48%.
