Nur-Sultan Port (port code: KZAST), previously known as Astana Port, is a dry port in the north-central part of Kazakhstan. It is situated along the Ishim River, at the junction of the Trans-Kazakhstan and South Siberian railways, almost 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) away from Kazakhstan’s largest city and former capital, Almaty, 200 kilometers from Karaganda and 450 kilometers from Omsk in Russia. There is an international airport nearby, 17 kilometres (11 miles) south-east of the city center, namely Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport, which is the main gateway for the city's domestic and international civilian air traffic.
