Astoria Port (port code: USAST) is a medium-sized port in the United States. Situated 8.6 nautical miles upstream from the sea, it is the first port upon entering the Columbia River.
The harbour comprises three piers with wharfage for nine ocean going cargo and passenger vessels, and with a depth of 11.0 meters. Pier 1 is a port-of-call for cruise ships and a cargo-handling pier for general cargo and for military and industrial vessels. Pier 2 handles commercial fishing. Pier 3 houses the port's haul-out facility and a 10-acre boatyard offering affordable upland and long-term boat storage.
The port has facilities for handling break bulk, dry bulk and liquid. It handles approximately 86,000t of cargo annually. The main cargo handled include forest products, bulk, seafood and general cargo.
The types of vessels regularly calling at this port are fishing vessels, accounting for about 32.5%; passenger vessels, taking up around 18.6%; and sailing vessels, taking a proportion of 17.5%.
