Bandar Imam Khomeini Port (port code: IRBKH) is Iran's largest and most modern port. Located in the downstream of Ghazaieh River in the southwest coast of Iran, about 45 nautical miles away from the estuary and on the north side of the Persian Gulf, it is sheltered within the Khor Musa.
Covering an area of about 1,041 hectares, the port offers facilities for handling break bulk, dry bulk, containers and liquid. It handles a variety of cargoes including the export of petrochemicals, A total of around 16.4 million tons of cargo, 40,250TEU and 6,200 passengers are handled by this port annually.
The types of vessels regularly calling at this port are bulk carriers, accounting for about 53%; and general cargo vessels, taking up around 11%. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 295 meters. The maximum draught is 13.7 meters. The maximum deadweight is 93,291t.
