Brownsville Port (port code: USBRO) is medium-sized deep-water seaport in Texas, the United States. Situated 15 nautical miles from the open sea at the west-southwest end of Brownsville Ship Channel, it is the southernmost port in Texas.
Covering s total of approximately 40,000 acres, the port has 6 liquid cargo docks and 13 cargo docks. There are more than 1 million square feet covered storage and more than 3 million square feet open storage.
The port handles approximately 4.6 million tons of cargo annually. It handles a wide range of cargoes including dry and liquid bulks, grain and general cargoes. Major dry bulk cargoes passing through this port include ores, fertilizers, petroleum, grain, sulfur, minerals, ores, aluminum, and grains.
