The Port of Buenos Aires (Port Code: ARBUE), the principal maritime port in Argentina, is located in the city's Retiro ward. The port handles around 11 million metric tons of cargo annually. During the golden age of Argentine immigration, passenger traffic at the port reached its peak (until 1930), when the port was in the current location of the immigration hotel. In the following decades, this was mainly used for tourist tourists to Argentina, and Argentine tourists to Uruguay. A fast ferry operated by the service Buquebus and Ferrylíneas runs short routes and runs from the Uruguay cities Colonia del Sacramento and Montevideo; Sturla transports tourists and Tigre, a popular weekend holiday destination. Benito Quinquela Martín (Benito Quinquela Martín) was established in 2000, serving 120 cruise ships and used by 100,000 tourists in 2010.
