Cadiz Port (port code: ESCAD) is a medium-sized port in Spain. It is situated in the south part of the Iberian Peninsula, only 40 kilometers from Jerez airport, which has a customs service for exports and imports and for transit operations.
The port comprises the 4 commercial harbours of Cadiz, International Free Zone, Puerto Real, Puerto de Santa Maria and 2 fishing harbours and is an important shipbuilding and ship repair centre. It is equipped to handle all types of cargo and handles approximately 4.85 million tons of cargo and 126,400TEU annually. The main exports leaving this port include minerals in bulk, chemicals, iron and steel products, clinker, wine and general cargo. The principal imports entering this port are oil products, coal, chemical products and general cargo.
Each year about 1,700 vessels and 224,650 passengers visit this port. The types of vessels regularly calling at this port are sailing vessels, accounting for around 20.5%; and cargo vessels, taking up around 20%. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 363 meters. The maximum draught is 11.5 meters. The maximum deadweight is 82,849t.
