Chimbote Port (port code: PECHM) is a medium-sized port in Peru. It is situated between Salaverry and Huarmey in Ancash Dept, at the north end of Bahia Ferrol.
There are three concrete piers available where vessels have the option to either berth alongside or to anchor in depths of 9.4 meters to 12.8 meters and be unloaded by lighters. There are also five buoy moorings for tankers in Ferrol Bay to the south of the port for loading fish oil and discharging oil products.
The port handles general cargoes, fish meal, iron ore and coke/coal. It handles approximately 90 vessels annually, among which cargo vessels and tankers each accounts for around 18%. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 200 meters. The maximum draught is 9.2 meters. The maximum deadweight is 63,500t.
