Christchurch Port (port code: NZCHC) is the central port of New Zealand. It is located on both sides of the Avon River mouth at the northwest end of Banks Peninsula in the middle of the east coast of South Island.
The throughput of this port accounts for more than 40% of the international freight volume in the southern region. And its container freight volume accounts for 70% of the total in the southern region. The main exports from this port are frozen meat and wool.
