Cork Port(Port Code:IECOB) is a port situated in Ireland’s southern coast, which is believed to be the second largest natural harbour in the world. The Port of Cork is the only port in Ireland with a deep-water Quay and the City Quays. The Port of Cork is involved in a number of marketing projects to help promote Cork as a cruise destination and area/region to visit. These projects are: Cork Cruise – a marketing organization formed jointly by the Port of Cork Company and Cobh and Harbour Chamber of Commerce. Cork Port still plays a vital role in Irish culture and industry. The port is still recognized for its fortifications and historical relevance, but now also has industrial significance. It continues to have a strong global commercial shipping network, which also contributes to Ireland's tourism industry. Cork is a military and naval centre as well as a boarding port for troops, and it remains the main port of call for Irish transatlantic liners.
