Crotone port (port code: ITCRE / ITCRV) is a medium-sized port in Italy. It is located on the southeast coast of Italy, approximately 85 nautical miles south of Taranto.
The port is divided into two parts, Porto Vecchio (Old Port) in the south, and Porto Nuovo (New Port) in the north, which are separated by a breakwater 3.6 kilometers in length. Owing to the scarcity of harbours of refuge along this coast, both of these harbours are often congested in winter.
The port handles general, bulk and liquid cargoes within its two bays (N and S). The main exports from this port are zinc in ingots and sulphuric acid and the principal imports include cereals and zinc ore.
The type of vessels regularly calling at this port is sailing vessels, accounting for 60%. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 48 meters. The maximum draught is 2.2 meters.
