Dalhousie port (port code: CADAL / CADHS) is New Brunswick’s largest privately-owned port, with convenient access to Canada and the United States from Europe or abroad. It is situated near the mouth of the River Restigouche, in Chaleur Bay, Gulf of St Lawrence.
The port consists of 2 public wharves administered by Transport Canada and a wharf owned by the New Brunswick International Paper Company. In total, the port’s warehouse offers 10,500 square meters of floor space area. With overhead loft, the port’s warehouse has 73,000 cubic meters of indoor storage volume.
The port has facilities for handling dry bulk, liquid and break bulk. The main exports from this port are lumber, wood pulp, newsprint and ore concentrates and the principal imports to this port include industrial chemicals, oil and coal. Each year about 100 vessels visit the port. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 32 meters.
