Esbjerg port (port code: DKESB / DKEBJ) is a large port in Denmark. It is located on the west coast of Jutland, 15 nautical miles east-southeast of Blavands Huk Point and is sheltered by Fano Island.
The port can handle most types of cargo. It handles approximately 4.6 million tons of cargo and 238,000TEU annually. The principal cargo handled include containers, Ro-Ro, fossil and liquid fuels, aggregates and fish.
The port is open all the year round, even in severe weather. Each year around 17,600 vessels and 1.84 million of passengers visit this port. The types of vessels regularly calling at this port are general cargo vessels, accounting for about 20%, and SAR, taking up around 19%. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 225 meters. The maximum draught is 9.8 meters. The maximum deadweight is 76,180t.
