Esquimalt port (port code: CAESQ) is a medium-sized seaport in Canada. It is located 100 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean on the northern bank of Juan de Fuca Strait, 5 kilometers from the port of Victoria, British Columbia.
The port is primarily a naval base with maintenance facilities which can be made available when not in use by the Canadian Navy. Other construction and repair facilities for commercial traffic are owned by the Public Works of Canada and are usually contracted out to private operators including Yarrows Ltd for ship repair, refitting etc. The port is well protected with a deep-water entrance from the waters of the Royal Roads anchorage.
