Gijon port (port code: ESGIJ) is a large port in Spain. It is located on the north coast of Spain, in the Bay of Biscay, west of the city of Gijon.
The port has 3 main areas: commercial area (formerly called Musel) in the northwest of the bay, central area, where naval berths and dockyards are located and local harbour in southeast of the bay (now a marina).
The port handles approximately 19,331,000t of cargo and 26,100TEU annually. The main imports are iron ore, coal, fuel and gas oil. The principal exports include cement, clinker and steel products. Each year approximately 1,180 vessels visit this port, among which about 66% is cargo vessels, and around 12% are fishing vessels. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 300 meters. The maximum draught is 16.5 meters. The maximum deadweight is 211,182t.
