Godthaab Port (port code: GLGHB), alternatively known as Nuuk Port, is the largest seaport in Greenland. It is located on the southwest coast of Greenland.
The port, which is ice free all year round and handles general cargo and containers, is usually a port of call for all vessels operating in western Greenland waters. The harbour is navigable throughout the year, but it is advisable to make arrangement with the port in advance for larger vessels.
The port offers facilities for handling break bulk and containers. The types of vessels regularly calling at this port are fishing vessels, accounting for about 24%; cargo vessels, taking up around 20%; and passenger vessels, taking a proportion of 17%.
The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 189 meters. The maximum draught is 9.4 meters. The maximum deadweight is 26,000t.
