Gove port (port code: AUGOV) is a large port in Australia. Situated in the northwest Northern Territory of Australia, it is bounded by the Gulf of Carpentaria to the east, the Arafura Sea to the north and includes the body of water known as Melville Bay.
Facilities in this port are established for the import of general cargo, bulk liquids and for the export of alumina, aluminium hydroxide, and bauxite. The general cargo wharf lies on the east side, whilst the wharf for small vessels lies at the head of the harbour. These facilities, with the exception of a small fishing vessel wharf/barge landing, are controlled by Alcan Gove.
The port handles approximately 125 overseas ships annually, including bulk carriers, tankers and normally two coastal barges per week. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 245 meters. The maximum draught is 10 meters. The maximum deadweight is 119,597t.
