Grand Bassam Port (port code: CIGBM) was the most important and the first port in the southeastern part of Côte d’Ivoire. It is situated on the southeast Bank of Ebrier lagoon and the West Bank of Comoe estuary, in southeastern Ivory Coast, about 45 kilometers east of Abidjan and 28 kilometers by road from Bouet Port.
The prominence of the port waned after a new deep-water wharf at Abidjan was opened in 1950.
