Greer Port (port code: USGXX) is a relatively small dry port in Upstate South Carolina. As a rail-served inland port facility, it extends the Port of Charleston’s reach 212 miles inland via rail to ensure the swift movement of goods for customers.
Covering 50 acres, the port has the potential to push 50,000 all-truck container moves to a more efficient intermodal (truck and rail) route. Since opening in 2013 with BMW Manufacturing Co. as the launch customer, the port has consistently broken records for cargo handled. In March 2021, it reported its busiest month in history with 16,688 rail moves, up 20.3% from last March.
