Grimsby port (port code: GBGRI / GBGSY ) is a large port in the United Kingdom. It is situated on the south bank of the River Humber, 9.5 kilometers from the open sea.
The port is favourably sited for its long-standing trade with Scandinavian and north European countries. Excellent road and rail communications enhance the modern port facilities. The main commercial docks are Alexandra and Royal Dock, and there is also the regenerated Fish Dock.
The port handles approximately 1,300,000t of commercial cargo, 10,000t of fish and 380,000 vehicles annually. Main exports at the commercial docks are iron and steel, chemicals, vehicles and manufactured goods, while imports mainly consist of food products, iron, steel, vehicles and manufactured goods.
