Hamilton port (port code: BMBDA) is the principal port of Bermuda. It is situated south of Spanish Point on the main island.
The port has a large range of facilities with 795 meters of quayage with draughts up to 7.9 meters. The principal berths are in line parallel to Front Street which runs along the northern waterfront. All vessels entering this port must take pilot at Five Fathom Hole off the east end of Bermuda and follow shipping channels into the port.
The port handles approximately 15,000TEU and 135,495t of general cargo, including cars, and 90 passenger vessels annually. It is a major destination for cruise vessels between April and October.
About half of the vessels regularly calling at this port are cargo vessels. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 228 meters. The maximum draught is 7.7 meters. The maximum deadweight is 20,146t.
