Himeji port (port code: JPHIM) is a large port in Japan. Situated on the Seto Inland Sea coast in Hyogo Prefecture, approximately 60 kilometers west of Kobe, the port area extends 18 kilometers along the coast and is divided into the Shikama and Higashi/Mega port areas to the east, Hirohata central Industrial port area and the west Industrial port areas of Aboshi and Nishi.
The port handles approximately 32,360,000t of cargo annually. The principal cargoes handled are crude oil, LNG, construction materials, steel, timber, chemicals, ores and coal.
Each year, this port handles about 36,000 vessels, among which around 53% are tankers. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 321 meters. The maximum draught is 11.9 meters. The maximum deadweight is 106,898t.
