Holyhead port (port code: GBHOL / GBHLY) is a medium-sized port in the United Kingdom. It is situated on the northwest coast of Wales.
The port is protected from prevailing winds by one of the largest breakwaters in the world. It is both owned and operated by Stena Line Ports for Stena Line ferry services to Ireland (Dublin Bay) and for those of other operators and for general cargo. At present Stena operate a fast ferry service between Holyhead and Dun Laoghaire (Dublin) and a Ro-Ro conventional service to Dublin itself. Irish Ferries also operate a conventional Ro-Ro service and fast ferry to Dublin.
The port handles approximately 2,500,000 passengers and 2,850,000t of cargo annually. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 264 meters. The maximum draught is 7.3 meters. The maximum deadweight is 9777t.
