Jayapura port (Port Code: IDDJJ) is an important seaport situated on the northern coast of Irian Jaya in eastern Indonesia, approximate 15 nm from the Papua New Guinea boarder at coordinates S 02° 32' 44.42" - E 140° 42' 49.37". It is a commercial port opened for foreign trade and serves as the main harbor of Irian Jaya. It handles forest product and crude palm oil as the main exports, the main imports being machinery and food stuffs. An oil terminal lies in Teluk Imbi, 1.5nm Northeast of the city. Approximately 1,000,000t of cargo, 54,500TEU and 630 vessel use the port annually. Its maximum draught is 12.0m and maximum deadweight is about 30,000DWT. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 150 meters.
