Kawaihae port (port code: USKWH) is a medium-sized port in the United States. It is situated on northwest coast of Hawaii Island.
The harbour consists of two wharves and a turning basin that is 230 meters wide with a depth of 10.7 metes. There is a ramp for Naval landing craft at south end of harbour.
The port handles imported general and containerised cargo, bulk cement, lumber, petroleum products and bulk fertilizer. Exports include cattle, produce, bulk raw sugar, molasses and lava cinders. Each year a total of approximately 1,492,000t of cargo is handled. About 83% of vessels regularly calling at this port are offshore,tug,supply or dredging vessels. With a maximum draught of 10 meters being allowed, the maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 83 meters.
