Kisumu port (port code: KEKIS) is an inland port serving as a trading and transportation hub for the Great Lakes region in western Kenya. The port is the main ferry terminal and is also a repair centre for ferries operating on the lake. It is located in west Kenya, on the northeast shore of Lake Victoria.
Kisumu port was founded in 1901 as the main inland terminal of the Uganda Railway named "Port Florence". It is reported that the Kenyan Government is to invest in a redevelopment project for the port. The project will see the ferry port terminal, which has fallen into a state of disrepair, being improved. The drydock at Kisumu is also to be upgraded.
