Havana Harbor (Port code:CUHAV)also named Habanaharbor, is the port of Havana, the capital of Cuba, and it is the main port in Cuba. It is situated on the north coast of Cuba, and is a natural sheltered harbour. Other port cities in Cuba include Cienfuegos, Matanzas, Manzanillo, and Santiago de Cuba. The harbor was created from the natural Havana Bay. It is entered through a narrow inlet and divides into three main harbors: Marimelena, Guanabacoa, and Atarés.
The port has fourteen berthing facilities for all types of vessels with sugar being the principal export; molasses, citrus fruits, liqueurs and minerals are exported. Imports tend to be general cargo, machinery, fertilisers and fuel oil. Containers are also handled. There are 19 mooring buoys positioned throughout the harbour, four of them for Naval vessels. There are good bunkering and repair facilities; provisions are in plentiful supply. Approx 270,000TEU and over 400 vessels handled annually.
