Lavan Island Port (Port Code:IRLVI) is an island terminal comprising piers for handling petroleum products and LPG and an SBM for handling crude exports. It is located approximately 10 n.m. off southern mainland Iran, 170 n.m. west of the Strait of Hormuz. The terminal is located at the SE corner of the island.
The port is a deep water tanker terminal for two ships operated by the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC), a subsidiary of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC). Traffic figures: Approx 29 vessels use the terminal annually. Load line zone: Tropical. Max size: LOA 259m, draught 19.2m, 300,000DWT. Produced oil from offshore fields is transferred to Lavan for final processing. Salman field 144 km south of Lavan Island , has one of the largest offshore complexes in the Persian Gulf.
