Maloy port (port code: NOMEY) is both a commercial harbour and a fishing port, situated on the southeast side of Vagsoy on the west coast of Norway, 280 kilometers north of Bergen. It is a sheltered port, well protected from the open sea, and has favourable approaches from both the north and the south.
Maaloy port is a good base for maritime activities with its quays and wide range of services. A total of 3,500m of quays offers excellent mooring conditions for all types of vessels. It is well suited for transshipment cargo and is much used by other parts of Norway with its facilities for handling break bulk, dry bulk dry dock and container.
As a major port with extensive shipments of containers, general, refrigerated cargo and ferries to North Sea ports and the Baltic, the post handles approximately 15,800 vessels, 14,100,000t of cargo and 400,000 passengers annually.
