The port of Mariehamn (Port Code:FIMAR) is situated in the very heart of the Baltic Sea, on the south coast of Aland, off the southwest coast of Finland, halfway between Finland and Sweden. Mariehamn has a well protected harbour with good anchorage in 9.0-18.0m of water. The port has two harbours, the East and the West Harbour. The East Harbour is now used for small boats only; depth at entrance 3.7m. West Harbour is a busy Ro-Ro and ferry port, also handling general cargo. Approx 200,000t cargo and 1,500,000 passengers handled anually. Max size: Alongside West Harbour: LOA 240m, draught 7.6m. Anchorage: Vessels up to a length of approx 270m can turn inside the West Harbour, draught 8.2m. Cruise traffic to Mariehamn runs all year round on a regular basis. International cruise ships generally call during the summer time.
