The International Port of Memphis (Port Code:USMEM) is an active port in Memphis, Tennessee. It is the second largest inland port on the shallow draft portion of the Mississippi River, and the 5th largest inland port in the United States. It is mainly located on President's Island which is a peninsula. However, it also extends between Mile 725 and 740 on both the Tennessee and Arkansas sides of the Mississippi River.
The port facility consists of 5 public terminals with 11 berths and the Valero oil refinery. Cargo handling facilities include bulk loading facilities, chemical tank storage, LASH services, product specific warehousing and six grain elevators. Approx 19,100,000t of cargo handled annually. It has the ability to connect to Sea via the Mississippi River, or by Rail using any of the 5 Class 1 railroads in the city or by Road via I-40 or I-55, or Air using FedEx.
