Mesaieed port (port code: QAMES), also known as Umm Said port, is a small port in Qatar. Situated in the industrial heartland of the country, on the east coast of the Qatar peninsula, and approximately 45 kilometers south of Doha, it is the premier port in the State of Qatar.
Having 22 berths and 1 SBM, handling crude oil, petroleum products, LPG, chemicals, fertiliser, bulk and general cargoes, the port can handle 48,000,000t of cargo and 61,000TEU annually. Main exports from the port include crude oil, condensate, refined products, LPG, naphtha, petrochemicals, ethylene, ammonia, methanol, polythene pellets, bulk urea, steel bars, sulphur, and bulk and general cargo. Main imports to the port are iron ore pellets, salt, aggregates, cement, clinker and project cargoes.
The port is able to process over 2,800 vessels per year. The types of cargo regularly calling at the port are cargo vessels (40%) and tankers (25%). The maximum draught of this port is 12.5 meters and the maximum deadweight is 319980t. The maximum length of the vessels recorded to having entered this port is 340 meters.
