The Mongstad port (Port Code:NOMON), the largest in Norway, is operated by Statoil and has facilities for the reception of crude oil shipped in from the North Sea, with crude oil and light refined petroleum products being exported. In terms of tonnage, the harbour at Mongstad is also Norway’s largest, and one of the largest oil and product harbours in Europe, with around 1500 ships calling every year. Mongstad refinery and oil terminal are located on Lindashalvoya and situated in Fensfjorden, 27nm northwest of Bergen. Mongstad Base, situated on the south side of Fensfjorden, 1.25nm southeast of Mongstad Oil Terminal, is an important supply base for the offshore oil industry.
