Myrtle Grove (Port Code: USMYG) is a sub port of Plaquemines. The CHS Myrtle Grove terminal handles wheat, soybeans, corn, rice, DDGS (distillers dried grains with solubles) and specialty grains for export to customers in Asia Pacific and Latin American countries. Located 25 miles south of New Orleans, it is the first terminal on the Mississippi River. Plaquemines Port in Public Private Partnership with CHS, Inc., are constructing a New Dock with a Barge Unloading System and an Independence Conveyance for Unloading Agricultural Products (Grain) at the Myrtle Grove Terminal within the port area.
Associated Terminals operates the Myrtle Grove Midstream Terminal – a floating grain elevator specializing in the transfer of grain and grain byproducts between barges and ocean vessels. Located at mile post 56.8 A.H.P. on the Lower Mississippi River, this terminal offers vessels the advantage of providing the shortest transit time from the Gulf of Mexico.
