Naoetsu port (Port Code: JPNAO) is an international trade port which has been created in the center part of the Japan-sea coastal area from Nara-age. Large scale vessels could be put into the port because of the division of the Seki river mouse in 1960, and port facilities has developed with these expectations. In addition to creating long range ferry routes to Hokkaido and Kyushu in recent years, container freight trade to Korea and China is increasing favorably and the yearly volume of total cargo handled at Naoetsu port reached 10 million tons.
