The port of Nekso (Port Code:DKNEK) is the largest harbour located on the southeast coast of Bornholm. Nekso is primarily a fishing port with a separate basin for general cargo. Navigation is open throughout the year. Approx 15 vessels visit the port annually. Summer Zone for ships over 100m in length and Winter Zone for ships of 100m or less in length. Max size: LOA 78m, beam 21m, draught 4.5m.
The port still has a large shipyard and service companies providing all types of repairs, as well as a boating-equipment shop. Visiting yachters are welcome along the 2870 metres of the quayside, which provides plenty of space for visiting pleasure craft of all sizes. The three northernmost harbour basins, along with the old dry dock, comprise the only major port in Denmark built of sandstone, which is the bedrock from which the harbour was blasted.
