Nuevitas (Port Code:CUNUE) is sheltered by a huge harbor, has two auxiliary ports, and is a major shipping point for Cuban sugar as well as other products from the surrounding agricultural region. It is one of the largest sugar exporting ports in Cuba. The entrance to the north coast Bay of Nuevitas lies between Punta Sotavento and Practicos.
