The port of Olbia (Port Code:ITOLB) is one of the most important ports of Sardinia. The port is located on the North East coast of the island and is the nearest port to reach Sardinia from Italy by ship or ferry. The port is located on the island's northeastern coast, inside the well protected Olbia Gulf (Tyrrhenian Sea).
The port has three main port areas, Isola Bianca (White Island) the main passenger terminal, designed to handle 6,000 passengers daily, the old port handling smaller passenger and general cargo vessels and Porto Cocciani, the new industrial port, approx 3km north of the town. Fresh water and provisions are available but repair facilities are restricted to smaller craft.
