Omaezaki Ko (Port Code:JPOMA) is a harbour of refuge affording good shelter and a temporary anchorage. The Port of Omaezaki’s strategic position on the Pacific Ocean, roughly equidistant from Tokyo and Osaka, has allowed it to flourish as an international cargo-based trade port and a major distribution center within Shizuoka Prefecture. Its reputation as a highly-functional industrial center is balanced out by the calming natural surroundings and opportunities for rest and relaxation
Omaezaki is situated on the southcoast of Honshu, at the entrance of Suruga Bay, in the Shizuoka Prefecture, approx 55km south of Shizuoka. During the winter months the harbour is particularly useful for vessels unable to proceed west through Enshu Nada. Omaezaki Ko is developing as a timber port, industrial centre and logistics hub handling general cargoes, raw materials and scrap metal.
