Paamiut port (port code: GLJFR), also known as Frederikshab port, is a small port for handling general cargo and containers. Situated on the southwest coast of Greenland, the port has an open season from August to January.
Large amounts of polar ice usually occur at Paamiut port during spring and summer, rendering it one of the most difficult ports to access. Whilst most difficulties can be overcome, it is noteworthy that ice of 45 centimeters thick has been recorded.
Half of the vessels regularly visiting this port are fishing vessels. Others are passenger vessels and cargo vessels, accounting for 20% and 10% respectively.
