Pangkalan Susu (Port Code:IDPKS) is a commercial port, opened to international trade and an agency branch for the port of Belawan. It is located on the northeast coast of Sumatera, approx 90km north of Belawan. The port has both onshore and offshore loading facilities for crude oil, LPG and asphalt. There is an SPM terminal moored at the extremity of a submarine oil pipeline, operated by Pertamina, extending 9.5nm northeast from the shore. There are also several small oil jetties and a general cargo wharf for timber, passengers and inter island traffic. Small shuttle tankers from Pangkalan Susu operate between the oil jetties and Pangkalan Susu SPM. Max size: Berths: LOA 185m, 10,000DWT. SPM: Max LOA 275m, 150,000DWT, BCM 129m.
