Pataholm (Port Code:SEPAT) was a busy trading hub and stop-off port for sailing ships in the 16th century, experiencing its heyday in the 19th century thanks to the introduction of shipyards. The role of Pataholm as the home port of Sweden's last sailing brig Gerda has earned a special significance in maritime history for this little harbour.
Pataholm Harbor has a depth of 5f feet only; at the town quay, which is 303 yards long, the depths are from 53 to 2 feet. At the inner wharf the depth is 5 feet and at the outer 107 feet. The depths are those at mean-water level; at low level they are 2 feet less.
