Peterhead Harbour (Port Code:GBPET) is a deepwater port on the Scottish mainland. The port is situated on the northeast coast of Scotland. Peterhead Bay Harbour and Peterhead Harbours are together known as the Port of Peterhead. It lies close to the major oil and gas fields of the northern and central North Sea. ASCo South Base and ASCo North Base, together make up the largest fully integrated oil supply industry and rig service base in Europe. There are modern fish processing facilities, cold stores and freezing plants for herring, mackerel and shell fish industries. The port handles other cargoes which include grain, coal, oil seed rape, fertiliser, animal feedstuffs, fuel oil, road salt, aggregates, palletised cargoes and frozen fish. The harbour is also used by cruise liners. The port handles approx 800,000t of cargo annually. Max size: Tanker Jetty: LOA 280m, draught 10.5m, 50,000DWT.
